The National Museum for Women in the Arts has Reopened!
NMWA is back y’all! Here is a reel I made when I stopped by in the first month of its reopening. It is gorgeous, I love the new color scheme, and I can’t wait to see what all the 2024 couples do with their wedding design in the museum!

The National Museum for Women in the Arts will close for renovations in September 2021 for two years. This museum is a very popular wedding venue. It is in a great location, it can accommodate 200+ guests, and it is stunningly beautiful in a very DC way.
So, assuming you want to get married before Fall 2023, where should you get married instead?
DC Wedding Venue Ideas
If you have a venue budget of about $25,000, need all that elbow room, and like this grandeur, I recommend Union Station, National Building Museum, or several of the Smithsonian museums.
If you have 140 or fewer guests, I recommend Daughters of the American Revolution. Though you can add a tent and accommodate more people – I recommend your ceremony be off-site.
In case you are open to a grand hotel, I recommend Hotel Monaco, The Fairmont, The Omni Shoreham, or The Willard.
If you are looking for a large venue, but are OK with a space more modern or industrial than the National Museum for Women in the Arts, how about The Schuyler, Dock 5, or the Ronald Reagan Building?
Maybe you want something that is similarly dramatic and beautiful, but in Baltimore, I recommend the George C. Peabody Library.
Yeah, it’s a bummer that the National Museum for Women in the Arts is going to close for two years. But there are some good alternatives out there to be your wedding venue. Send me an email if you want more ideas!
