2019 Weddings: Invitation Flat Lays
Over the past few years, the concept of the “flat lay” has exploded in the wedding world. These stylized photos can be used to capture anything from your wedding stationery, your jewelry, shoes and even flowers from your wedding day. Or any combination of those items!
I love working on flay lay photos. It is one final way for me to exercise my creativity for your wedding day. Some photographers can create them on the wedding morning, some take the items home and document them after the fact. Either way, it is helpful if you have these items gathered and ready for your photographer when they arrive on your wedding day.
Stationery with Blues and Metallics
A lot of blues and metallics in the 2019 wedding stationery with us. Watercolor, crests and location-based motifs are still very popular with wedding invitations. Some photographers will bring small collection of props (like ring boxes or bowls, the vintage postage, velvet ribbon, and even a backdrop) to add to the flay lay design.
Invitations with Warmer Tones
Above, we have a custom, peachy floral invitation design for a colorful summer wedding. Below we see that pinks and purples are still very popular when it comes to wedding stationery!
Below is a flat lay I did myself, with a stunning stationery suite of gold, white and deep green. The stationery is actually elevated (not flat!) off the backdrop with little riser blocks so that I can tuck the flowers underneath like so.
I also have round ups of wedding stationery flat lays over the past 4 years: 2018 weddings, 2017 weddings, 2016 weddings and 2015 weddings.
