Real Wedding: Dahlgren Chapel and Carlyle House

Carolyn and Ted had a Catholic wedding ceremony at Dahlgren Chapel, located at their alma mater, Georgetown University, and then had an intimate wedding reception at the Carlyle House in Alexandria, Virginia. Andrew Reilly captured the day beautifully. Carolyn was 16 weeks pregnant at the time, doesn’t she look positively radiant?!

Petal’s  Edge did a wonderful job with the flowers. Even though the wedding was in October, Carolyn and Ted wanted a more winter-y color scheme of blues and silver. We had silver chairs paired with navy linens, with shades of white and blue flowers. Guests had cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the lower garden of the Carlyle House before sitting for dinner on the tented patio. We used paper lanterns and luminarias for added ambiance once the sun set.

The dessert table was a highlight for Carolyn and Ted. In addition to a vintage cake topper on their cutting cake, we served cupcakes, custom M&Ms and Mallomars were offered to the guests in addition to sweet treats from Design Cuisine.
