A Woodend Wedding with Summer Strawberries

Susanna and Lynden selected Woodend Mansion in Chevy Chase, Maryland as the backdrop for their family-oriented summer wedding celebration. Jay Premack captured the day and brings us these gorgeous photos, and Sidra Forman created these wonderful floral designs.

It was incredibly important to Susanna and Lynden that Lynden’s 5 year old daughter Caroline have a great time at the wedding, along with all the other children who were there. Many games and activities were spread out across the Woodend lawn and were enjoyed by all.

The tent at Woodend was set with pink, green and cream flowers clustered in small arrangements of cut glass vessels. The paper products were done on rustic kraft paper. The escort cards and the salt & pepper shakers were birds, an homage to the venue, which is the home of the Audubon Society. One of Susanna’s favorite things about summer are the fresh strawberries. So we incorporated them everywhere – the pre ceremony drinks, the post ceremony champagne, the first course salad (thank you Corcoran Caterers) and of course the wedding cake.

Guests danced the night away, and when it was time to wrap up, Susanna changed her dress, met up with their pup Sunny and the trio drove away in their guest-decorated van. And they lived happily ever after 🙂
