Scarlett’s First Birthday Party

My best friends celebrated their daughter’s first birthday over the weekend. I was lucky enough to get to help out with the birthday party planning and prep. I love planning kids parties – I  love a good theme, I love lots of color, and I love games and activities.  I am super excited to share this beautiful cake by Charm City Cakes, as well as the sneak peek slideshow from awesome photographer Tim Riddick.

The theme was Row Row Row Your Boat, but we didn’t want to go with traditional nautical colors – we wanted to do something more feminine but not be all pink. our Charm City Cakes cake designer helped us focus in on this pale rainbow palette. Fabulous Etsy designer Lemonade Design Studio helped us with all the paper products, and the husbands made the cardboard boat. Sadly it was so hot, not many people ventured outside to the sail boat photo booth. Everyone was super excited about the smash cake, but true to form, Scarlett was very delicate. She does eat shredded cheese one piece at a time. Guests raved over the Chocolate Chip Muffin birthday cake that was served. Both sets of grandparents live locally, and 3 great grandparents came in from Wisconsin for the celebration, which allowed for some great family photos.

Thanks again to Tim Riddick for the beautiful photos and Charm City Cakes for the fabulous birthday cake!
