The Planning Process

1. Reach Out

You’re dreaming of a colorful, classy D.C. wedding and think Bellwether Events might be the right choice for you. We’re flattered! You can start the process by reaching out. We’ll send you a proposal and schedule a consultation call so you can get all of your questions answered. You’ll sign our contract and make your first payment to officially book us.

2. Let’s Plan

This step in the process varies depending on which services you booked. If you’ve hired us for two or three, we’ll begin working together right away. If you booked Management, you can email us anytime, and our work will begin three months before your wedding.

3. It’s Wedding Day!

We’ll be the first ones to arrive (well, the first ones after the beauty team), the last ones to leave, and the people with all the answers. Don’t expect to have questions, though — we’ll take care of everything for you so that you can enjoy your day.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SERVICE IS RIGHT FOR ME?

Our wedding planning services — Planning, Design, and Management — are designed in a mix-and-match style so that you get exactly what you need. Planning is for those who need help with logistics, organization, and details. Design is for couples who want help making their day gorgeous. Management is our “day of” wedding coordination service, where we execute your plans and designs.

If you’d like a comprehensive wedding planning experience, we recommend booking us for all three services. If you’d like partial wedding planning help, book us for just two services. Or if you simply want to enjoy your wedding day like you are a guest, book us for our Management service standalone.

Bellwether Events serves the greater Washington D.C. area. Our portfolio includes weddings across Northern Virginia (hello Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, McLean, Great Falls, Leesburg, and all of Loudoun County!) and Maryland (we’re looking at you Bethesda, Potomac, and the rest of Montgomery County). We have also worked in Edinburgh, Scotland, Napa, California, a Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania, and a summer camp in West Virginia. We have passports and love to travel.
