Riverside on the Potomac Wedding | Colorful Spring Wedding in Virginia
K & T planned their Riverside on the Potomac wedding from their home… in Mozambique! This meant that we had to have early morning calls and email exchanges took longer than normal, but the couple totally rolled with it. Luckily, a close family member lives in Northern Virginia, and that became the base of operations (aka storing stuff) as the wedding day approached.
Thanks to AE Landes for this charming wedding photos. I’ve worked many Riverside on the Potomac weddings, including this sweet, Spring wedding and this colorful Summer wedding.
As you can probably tell from these photos, it was a rainy day at Riverside on the Potomac. We really wanted to have the wedding ceremony outside, so we made a last minute call, and welcomed guests to the cocktail hour first, in the lower barn. Then, once the rain stopped (briefly,) we had the ceremony outside before welcoming guests up to dinner in the big barn.
The above photo was not staged, I swear! Isn’t it great!
And doesn’t the barn look warm and cozy for the dinner reception?
I’ve done a few food trucks now as late night treats, and they are always a huge hit with the wedding guests. I’ve done sweet and savory trucks, and all are winners in my book. The photos from these ice cream sandwiches are just the best!
