2019 Weddings: Real Cakes
Earlier I posted all my 2019 wedding bouquets. Now I’m back with 2019 wedding cakes. It wasn’t until I saw all these photos in one place did I realize the overwhelming white buttercream wedding cake trend of 2019. Not that past years have been super different – a white buttercream wedding cake has been the standard for… ever? But all those horizontal stripes!
If you like to look at wedding cakes, here are a bunch of older posts: 2018 wedding cakes, 2017 wedding cakes, 2016 wedding cakes and 2015 wedding cakes. And if you want more than pretty pictures, check out my 2019 wedding statistics post.

Still a white wedding cake, but instead this one is covered in white fondant with beautiful ruffles on alternating tiers. Don’t miss the sweet lovebird cake topper.
For our wedding in Charlottesville in 2019, we had this stunner of a wedding cake with fondant, sugar flowers, and silver and lavender accents, and a surprise groom’s cake covered with New Orleans iconography.
I had one non-white wedding cake last year and it was magnificent. This tree-bark design with delightful sugar mushrooms was the perfect addition to an outdoor wedding with a woodland wonderland vibe.
