The Secret Garden Wedding Reception Tent

We are delighted to share this waterfront wedding in Southern Maryland with you. AC & MSH had originally planned a 200-person wedding day with a church ceremony and museum reception in DC. But after a few months of not seeing the pandemic environment show any improvement, AC & MSH made a change. They kept the date and the dress but downsized the wedding celebration to 27 guests.

We moved the wedding to AC’s mom’s waterfront home in Southern Maryland and planned for a tented reception. When we started talking about what the backyard wedding tent would look like, A asked if we could make it look like a Secret Garden and the new wedding design was born.

We worked with four rental companies and three décor companies to make sure every detail was perfect. The pews were an homage to the original plan to marry in a church. The orange and coral florals were a cheerful take on a traditional fall color palette. We made sure that the seating always gave guests the best view of the water. Under the tent, we arranged tables to accommodate the family pods that were in attendance.
