Eastern Market DC

The first time I ever visited Eastern Market, a daily indoor and outdoor farmer’s market with a seasonal outdoor weekend flea market near the US Capitol, I thought it would be so fun to juxtapose a bride and groom in their glamorous wedding day attire against this colorful, urban and diverse backdrop. I mentioned the idea to my friend Allison, and she immediately had a couple in mind, as the bride had recently married in a gorgeous ivory wedding gown. On a very hot day in June, real couple Jamie and Alec got back into their wedding day attire and trekked through Eastern Market with us. The purveyors and patrons were all great sports as we interrupted their shopping for our photo shoot. Greenworks created fabulous flowers for us to use – that color blocked asymmetrical bouquet slays me.
