bride and groom - Moody Spring Riggs Hotel Rooftop Wedding

Spring Riggs Hotel Rooftop Wedding

This fashionable foodie couple had a Spring wedding at the Riggs Hotel in Washington DC. It was filled with moody colors and funny people giving great toasts (roasts?) Remember that if you want portraits as good as these, you need to plan for an hour doing them! The Riggs hotel is perfectly situated near the Portrait Gallery, which is an ideal spot for photos.

Sexy, Moody Spring Wedding Details

Art Deco is one of my favorite styles, so I loved seeing it in this wedding invitation suite. It perfectly matched the fashion for this couple.

Riggs Hotel Wedding Ceremony and Reception

I was thrilled when I learned that there would be a flip chart with data and graphs during this Spring wedding ceremony at the Riggs. Please make your wedding ceremony interesting and memorable. Please encourage your quirky friends to do quirky things on your wedding day if it speaks to you.

Sexy, Moody Spring Wedding Flowers

This may not look like a traditional Spring wedding color palette to you. But I can tell you that the Riggs Hotel has deep purple chairs and the couple was working with the chairs, not against them. And that is how this color palette (and the gorgeous lavender velvet linens) came to be for this wedding! A note that all the candles were DIY and we were hustling (once again!) to get all those candles on the tables within the one-hour flip of the rooftop event space.
