At Home Wedding in Virginia: Sam and Mark
This at-home wedding in Front Royal, Virginia, was filled with family and fun. The bride, Sam, has four older brothers and I was lucky enough to work with 2 of them on their weddings (one is still single!), including Mitch and Ashley’s wedding which also at this, Sam’s mother’s, Virginia farm. I hope you enjoy these great photos by Natalie Lane.
Sam and Mark picked a blue and white color palette for their summer wedding, which was reflected in the stationery, wedding party attire, flowers and linens. The wedding invitation also feature a custom drawing of the big red barn at the farm. This is my favorite thing to do with an at-home wedding – to incorporate a visual of the location into the wedding somehow.
The wedding ceremony was on property but across the street at the river’s edge. Guests have been visiting this farm for years, so they needed little direction on how to get there. Almost all of Sam’s nieces and nephews (save the infants) were part of the processional. We used a cute area rug to cover a bald patch in the grass so Sam and Mark didn’t get too messy. Cocktails and dinner was back at the big red barn. Guests enjoyed cornhole and a photobooth filled with fun props. This casual wedding reception called for a BBQ-inspired dinner buffet and open seating inside the barn.
Many thanks to these awesome vendors who made this wedding so great:
