Hay-Adams Hotel Wedding Anniversary

Happy, happy second anniversary to Stephanie and Wes, who had a gorgeous wedding at the Hay-Adams hotel in Washington DC on a perfect May day!

What I remember so clearly from their wedding day was that nothing went wrong! I had a new assistant helping me that day, and between the impeccable hotel staff and the fact that we had no weather worries, she had an awesome (and somewhat misleading) first experience in wedding coordination!

One (good to have) challenge we had at this wedding was that our RSVP count was lower than expected. Hotel wedding venues often have a food & beverage minimum that you have to spend with them, in addition to potential room rental fees, or fees for setting up a ceremony. If your head count comes in lower than expected, you may have to add on food items or do bar upgrades to hit the minimum. Like I said, it is not a terrible problem to have. You can feed people into happiness.
