Great Falls, Virginia Backyard Wedding
This Virginia backyard wedding was a fun one to plan, with a property I’d already worked at, pups and kids galore, and a couple willing to try new things, like an ombre design for their long dinner tables.
Y & C were actually married in London, where they lived, in 2019. We planned for a first-anniversary party with a vow renewal for April 2020. That turned into a third-anniversary party in 2022 for obvious reasons. The best part was that by 2022, Y & C then had two pups to attend the wedding!
We recreated the DIY bouquet that Y carried at their London nuptials. We also displayed wedding day photos on a slideshow during the cocktail hour.
Virginia Backyard Wedding Ceremony
We planned a simple vow renewal in the front yard of C’s parents’ Great Falls home, led by C’s older sister. She also married at this home many years ago. As I’ve said many times before, I love working with families many times over.
Great Falls Tented Wedding Reception at a Private Home
Years before when C’s sister got married at this Virginia home, this six-car garage did not exist. So that wedding tent was in the middle of the lawn. This time we had a great garage to build off of for this tented wedding reception. The bar was inside the garage’s club room, so we set up a lounge to be in the adjacent bay. Over the two-year delay in wedding planning, the guest list expanded a bit. So we added a third dinner table inside the garage as well.
