Baltimore AVAM Wedding | Happy First Anniversary
Jackie and Marc had a stunning wedding reception at the American Visionary Arts Museum. Click to see my post with their AVAM wedding ceremony photos. We used copper sequined linens in the cocktail reception, and navy linens for the dinner. The head table used sequined navy linens. We found a copper napkin and a nearly copper chair to pair with copper chargers to round out the look. Crimson and Clover made this stunning floral chandelier as well as the metallic and eclectic centerpieces.
Baltimore was a bit of destination for Jackie and Marc’s guests, so they had a large rehearsal dinner the day before their wedding; and a large brunch the morning after their wedding. At the start of dinner, a member from each side of the family participated in the blessings, and then Jackie’s parents gave a joyful wedding toast.
Dancing was a big deal for Jackie and Marc. The hired Black Tie, which is one of the best bands in the DC area. They don’t take breaks- there is nonstop live music for the length of your contract. They are such a great band, they even played Jackie’s dad’s one song request: Y-M-C-A.
Jackie and Marc really wanted to give their guests a copper mug in a way that made sense for the logistics of their wedding reception as well. We came up with tagging the mugs as a escort card, and having waitstaff near the display to pour the specialty cocktails into the mugs after the guests pick them up. This helped alleviate lines at the bar.
Shoes were also a big deal for Jackie and Marc. Not only did the bride and groom have a shoe change for the reception, Marc got all his groomsmen custom Chuck Taylors as gifts. Marc’s sister donned these navy glitter Keds for the reception as well.
I love this photo. I don’t often get a photo with my couples, because I feel like I am bothering them. So when they requested this of me and Kurstin, I was so happy!
