Wyatt’s Minecraft Bar Mitzvah Party
I so enjoyed working with Wyatt’s mom, Deb Lindsey, on his Minecraft themed bar mitzvah. I love planning parties for kids, and I love theme parties. So I was really on cloud nine, especially since Deb liked most of my goofy ideas and let me run with them. Wyatt had a great service at Washington Hebrew Congregation in the morning, followed by a light kiddush. Later that evening, fifty of Wyatt’s friends gathered at the Bolger Center in Potomac, Maryland. We filled the party with fun Minecraft themed items, mostly sourced on Etsy.
When the kids arrived, they signed in on a Minecraft calendar by writing their name on their birthday. We had stripe straws on the soda and smoothie bar with Minecraft flags. Finger foods on the buffet had Kreeper toothpicks and the flatware had a Minecraft pattern. Dinner was capped off with a fantastic ice cream sundae bar, enhanced with some “mineral” and “gem” candies. The kids went home with a custom Minecraft sweatshirt, celebrating what a blast Wyatt’s party was.
