Hendry House Wedding | Tented Reception
Thanks for coming back to see the rest of the photos from this adorable Hendry House wedding in Arlington, Virginia. Click if you missed my last post, featuring the outdoor wedding ceremony.
Wedding guests gathered in the house and on the porch for the cocktail hour, before heading into the tent for dinner. After dinner, guests returned to the house for dessert and to dance the night away.
There are many areas of the catering budget where costs can be cut. We opted for disposable cups, plates, silverware and napkins at this wedding. It was a big savings and it also felt right with the casual menu of BBQ and the rustic decor in the tent. When you rent something as simple as glassware for your wedding, you are likely spending $10-15 per person on that line item. We spent a fraction of that using disposables.
Instead of printing a menu card for each guest, which usually ends up in the garbage, the groom made the rustic sign and we had Meant To Be Calligraphy write the wedding dinner menu on it, which we displayed next to the BBQ buffet.
Don’t get me wrong, I love cake. But for a fraction of the cost of cake, you can have an assortment of smaller desserts from your favorite bakery in town. Which is what L & N did. Even better, a friend picked them up and brought them to the wedding, eliminating the delivery fee!
