Hendry House Wedding | Arlington Wedding Planner

Since this Hendry House wedding has now featured on United With Love, I’m so excited to share some more with it with you. L & N were so very great to work with. They had a small group of wedding guests and a completely normal wedding budget, which I am going to discuss here so that you can get an idea of where they cut back and where they splurged.

First, we need to talk about this ceremony arch, which lives at the Hendry House in Arlington, Virginia. How incredible is this living arch! I am obsessed! Since it grows out of the ground on the left side, it is a little thinner towards the bottom of the right side. To cover this up we used one rustic pillar and large floral arrangement. Typically you see 2 altar arrangements but this was a place where we could save some budget and still have it make complete sense. We also tucked a couple dozen loose blooms right into the ivy on the left side, to give a little color balance to the arrangement.

L & N used Minted for their wedding invitation and stationery, and it turned out lovely! I love the floral sketch continued onto the liner and the rounded corners, which are options that didn’t add all that much to the bottom line. Are you considering Minted? In addition to providing guests with a classic ceremony program, L & N also wanted to give them a map of the rest of the reception. N created two rustic signs, one of which we used for the dinner menu which you will see on my next blog post, and the other, below, to let guests know what to expect for the evening after the ceremony ended.

L & N were married by L’s brother, who is a pastor back home. It was a super personal, emotional, and touching wedding ceremony. L & N didn’t do a first look, so there was a lot of build up to this processional!

Having a small wedding party can help keep costs low. Bouquets can be pricey and you might also be covering hair, make up and jewelry for those special ladies as well. Something else about the florals – L didn’t really have a floral color palette and that can help with costs. We knew the dresses were burgundy, and we had a general idea of peachy tones, but L was flexible, which allows the florist to be budget conscious.
