AVAM Baltimore Wedding | Jewish Wedding Ceremony
I am so super excited to wish this awesome couple a Happy First Anniversary today and to share their AVAM wedding photos with you! I LOVE the AVAM! But more on that later. Today I'm sharing their pre-ceremony and ceremony photos, please check back tomorrow for their reception photos.
The planning
Jackie wanted to explore the option of a waterfront venue, which we soon found out really meant “on the beach” – which doesn't really exist in the DC metro area, though we did look high and low for it. Once it was settled that a wedding venue with a basic water view wasn't ideal, we turned our attention to AVAM, one of the best wedding venues in Baltimore. We figured that Jackie & Marc could do their first look in the Inner Harbor, as our homage to the water, so we picked a waterfront hotel to get ready at.
The colors and flowers
We settled on a navy and copper color palette pretty early, which was good because at the time copper was hard to come by. It was decided that a deep purple would be the accent color that we would use in the florals. Jackie's gorgeous redheaded matrons of honor wore copper toned dresses, while the rest of her party wore navy dresses. The bouquets were tweaked in their color palette, depending on the dress color.
The ketubah signing
After the waterfront first look, the entire wedding party went up to Federal Hill for some portraits before returning to AVAM for the ketubah signing. This is always such a joyful and exciting moment during a Jewish wedding, I love seeing the photos from it (since I am usually not in attendance!)
The Sculpture Barn wedding ceremony
I love this part of AVAM weddings. The Sculpture Barn is so interesting and unique. With our group size, we were able to configure the chuppah to be right in front of the doors to the garden, allowing in natural like and a view of the greenery. The birch chuppah was absolutely stunning, with a swag of flowers and hanging votive candles. Jackie and Marc did many of the Jewish wedding customs, including circling, being wrapped in a tallis, and breaking the glass.
Please check back tomorrow for Jackie and Marc's AVAM wedding reception photos!
