Hotel Monaco Washington DC Wedding: Gold & Glam

Today I wish a very happy FIRST anniversary to D & K, and I’m taking the time to show off their stunning glam & gold Hotel Monaco wedding, documented by the lovely Susie & Becky! You can click to see how the Washingtonian covered their wedding!

I’ve worked at the Hotel Monaco quite a few times, you can see this modern spring wedding, this art deco inspired wedding ceremony and wedding reception and this classic colorful wedding.

The wedding invitations really set the tone with their gold foil and slightly whimsical design. Dana is super fashionable, which you can see in her accessory and shoe choices! This all white bridal bouquet from Holly Chapple is superb.

Dana is very close to her parents, and they were so supportive on the wedding day. If you are close with your dad, and your wedding day timeline allows it, you should schedule a quick first look with your dad before your first look with your spouse-to-be!

After the first look, wedding party portraits and immediate family portraits, we had the ketubah signing ceremony in the Tokyo boardroom.

While Dana and Kevin were signing their ketubah, their wedding guests were enjoying a cocktail reception in the Paris Ballroom. After, we moved all the guests to the Athens ballroom for the wedding ceremony under this stunning chuppah, created by Holly Chapple.

While the ceremony was taking place in the Athens ballroom, the Paris ballroom was being quickly and expertly transformed into this glitter gold paradise. I am obsessed with everything about this look, it fits in the hotel so well!

The Jewish wedding tradition of the Hora dance is one of my favorite photo opportunities ever. The candid photos are always so great, and Dana and Kevin did not disappoint!

Dana and Kevin weren’t interested in traditional wedding cake. Instead the hotel offered a float bar, with four different types of floats, what could be made with or without booze. We also brought in pies from the Pie Sisters to compliment the floats! When the wedding ended and guests departed, they were treated to a 2 pack of fresh Krispy Kreme donuts.
