Glen Echo Park Wedding | Happy 6th Anniversary!

Kirsten and Matt have been married so long, that I look back on all the anniversary posts I wrote for them over the years and they are terrible. So today, as a gift to them, I’m writing a proper post on their fabulous, quirky, colorful Glen Echo Park wedding in the Spanish  Ballroom. We started their day at the Crystal Pool doors, for the first look. Then we moved onto group photos outside and then on the historic carousel, followed by Cudlde Up.

K & M decided to only rent the Spanish Ballroom for their wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Which meant that we had to flip the ballroom in an hour after the ceremony. To accomplish this we used A LOT of pipe and drape from Fabrications. We took one third of the room for the ceremony, and pre-set all the dinner tables in the back part. The cocktail hour was in the foyer of the ballroom, so we also draped the interior perimeter of the ballroom to prevent guests from seeing the flip.

I have one regret from this wedding – that All Is Love sign. I did not fully communicate what we wanted with the production company, so this sign is not what we had hoped. We decided to use it anyway.

Here is the big reveal after the wedding ceremony. I love this blue linen paired with the bentwood chair. You can see the carpet that we were required to install in these photos as well. The Spanish Ballroom doesn’t allow any food or drink on their historic wooden floor.

I wish we could have had more string lights, but there are limited hang points in the ballroom.
