Wish Upon A Wedding at Meridien House
Erwin and Ed were married in Washington DC shortly after the District made same sex marriages legal. Even though they had been together for years, and were raising two adopted boys together, they were excited to make it official where that was possible, and their closest family and friends were excited to share in this day with them. Before the ceremony at Meridien House, the wedding party took portraits near the Capitol Building.
Erwin was suffering from terminal cancer at the time, so nonprofit Wish Upon A Wedding was called upon to pull together a wide mix of DC, Virginia and Maryland wedding pros to gift Erwin and Ed this celebration. Little Bit Heart provided all of the gorgeous paper goods. Paloma’s Nest donated a beautiful ring bearer bowl that their younger son carried down the aisle. Mary Kate McKenna took engagement portraits of Erwin and Ed and compiled them into a guest book.
AC Warden officiated a touching ceremony and made sure it was all legal. DC Rental came through for us with the beautiful chairs and linens. Elegance & Simplicity provided all of the flowers that Erwin and Ed wanted. WTA provided the DJ, Bill from humanstory created a video and Diamond Limo helped transport the wedding party around town that day. Cakes by Cynthia provided this perfect cake.
Now that Erwin has passed on, I am so thankful to have these photos, created by Laura Luis.
