Pop Art and Puzzle Piece Wedding Ideas and DIYs
When Kelly from Studio DIY lived in DC, we planned this Pop Art 7 Puzzles styled shoot together. Our idea was to use Pop Art themes to incorporate puzzle pieces into wedding design. We wanted to create cool DIY ideas and showcase them in a “non tablescape” way. First up, we have these awesome perforated wedding invitations created by stationer Two Brunettes. We adore the colorful palette, the type-heavy design, and the idea of the invitation and RSVP being semi-attached to create a puzzle shape for each. I can’t thank Kurstin Roe enough for all the wonderful photos of this inspiration shoot.
Continuing the Pop Art and puzzle theme, we created a fun escort card display that doubles as a hands-on wedding guest book idea. Each guest will get a puzzle piece with their escort card. When they get to their table, all the puzzle pieces will fit together to create a photo of the marrying couple. Those individual puzzles will combine to create a “photo mat” -style guest book for all guests to sign. We made everything magnetized to achieve this concept.
No inspiration shoot would be complete without a fun cake and an equally fun cake topper. Thanks to Kendall’s Cakes for the colorful, puzzle piece wedding cake, and Blue Butterfly Design for the topper.
Photo booths are still all the rage at wedding receptions, but not everyone can afford the price tag, so we decided to create a DIY Pop Art photo booth. This feature is built into the Mac laptop, and we created some awesome props and set it all up on a table with a solid backdrop. Most of these props were homemade, or picked up from Target.
